Mallorcan Lunch with Kitty Coles
Saturday 11th May, 1pm
I’m absolutely delighted to welcome Kitty Coles to my Studio for a Mallorcan-inspired lunch this Spring. I imagine most of you already know Kitty and her beautiful food. (If not, then head to @kittycoles immediately!).
Kitty is one of London’s most sought-after cooks/food and prop stylists/ghost recipe writers. She works regularly with Anna Jones, The Guardian, Melissa Hemsley and has styled the Pasta Grannies, Bread Ahead and Borough Market cookbooks.
She says “I grew up in my family's seasonal, small, daily changing menu, chalk board restaurant kitchen, (called Coles Restaurant, Marlborough) learning about flavours, fresh produce and style. I’m passionate about food being a collaborative experience that can be relaxing, enjoyable and simple.
My Dad was a Chef and Restaurateur for 40 years and my Mum an Artist, chef and pastry chef. So I am born with food and aesthetic in my blood”.
Kitty’s family have always split their time between London and Palma, so she’ll be bringing her favourite flavours from the island to Edinburgh for us.
Tickets are £65 and the menu will be something along the lines of:
Vermouth, orange and olive to drink
———
Marinated red peppers
Plates of jamon, olive oil crisps, pickled peppers and spicy vinegar
Bread and Mallorcan olive oil
———-
Sobrasada and lemon roast chicken
Veggie: Whole baked onions dressed in paprika and garlic oil.
Poached potatoes and fennel
Saffron aoili
Spring herb salad
———-
Warm almond sponge coated in icing sugar a la ensaimadas. Lightly whipped cream and fresh orange segments.
Natural chilled red wine included on the table/homemade soft drinks.
Start time is 1pm, finishing around 4pm. There will be time for Q&A with Kitty after lunch and the chance to buy signed, personalised copies of her new book Make More With Less which is being released on 4th April.
21 Sciennes Road, Edinburgh, EH9 1NX
Please get in contact to check on any other dietary or special requirements before booking. Most of the time we can adapt the menu and cater for everyone, but please do check first.
